Machine Directive (Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC)
All machines used in Europe should follow the European Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC. While many countries in the world have adopted non-mandatory certification of machinery and safety parts, Europe is based on mandatory safety certification (Mandatory) to minimize the loss of social costs due to accidents.
Machinery | chain saw, injection machine, rubber injection machine, molding machine, semiconductor device, general processing equipment, hydraulic press, mechanical press, work lift, lift for vehicle maintenance, etc. |
---|---|
Safety parts | Electric detection devices, logic devices, press protection screens, protective devices for rotating mechanisms, dropped object protection mechanisms, etc. |
The European standards for machine safety can be divided into A standards, B, standards, C and standards. Products must meet all three applicable standards.
A Standard (EN 414, EN 12100) |
A standard that defines basic concepts, design principles and general aspects to basic safety standards |
---|---|
B Standard ( EN 13850, EN 13849-1, EN 60204-1, etc) |
Safety standards applicable to widely classified machines according to general machine applications and purposes
|
C Standard | A standard specifying detailed safety requirements for a specific machine or group of machines |
