  • To strengthen competencies by fostering experts in explosion protection and cultivating expertise to develop competence in all industries

  • Training of explosion protection specialised workforce to reinforce individual competencies for overhaul and repair of explosion-protected equipment.

Candidates

  • Candidates need to be certified with IECEx CoPC Unit Ex 001
  • Candidates need to have at least 3 years of work experience with electrical equipment design, installation, inspection, overhaul and repair, maintenance, and/or other explosion protection related occupation in hazardous areas (At least 2 years of the 3 years work experience must be within hazardous areas)

Assessment Criteria

  • The theoretical assessment consists of constructed and selected response questions. It is an open book examination, and the absence of keywords may be a deduction factor.
  • The pass mark for the assessment is 75% or more.

  • Definitions and details of the initial inspection
  • Repair and maintenance types for explosion-protected equipment
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex d equipment
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex e equipment
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex i equipment
Day 3
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex n equipment
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex tD equipment
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex pD equipment
  • Requirements, repair, and maintenance of Ex p Equipment
  • Marking identification of repaired explosion-protected equipment
