- To strengthen competencies by fostering experts in explosion protection and cultivating expertise to develop competence in all industries
Content
- Training of fundamental explosion protection knowledge and practical techniques to design electrical installations in explosive atmospheres.

Design electrical installations or associated with explosive atmospheres
Candidates
- Candidates need to be certified with IECEx CoPC Unit Ex 001
- Candidates need to have at least 2 years of work experience with electrical equipment installation or other explosion protection related occupation in hazardous areas
Assessment Criteria
- The theoretical assessment consists of constructed and selected response questions. It is an open book examination, and the absence of keywords may be a deduction factor.
- The pass mark for the assessment is 75% or more.

- Selection of explosion-protected equipment according to the requirements for each Ex zone
- General precautions for explosion protection design
- Designs to prevent sparks
- Site and plant specifications
- Selection of cable glands and accessories
- Loop calculation exercises
